Stadium Features

What makes Lucas Oil Stadium stand out from other sports arenas? Not only does the city’s national football team call this place home, but every detail was designed with precision and efficiency. From video boards to exhibit halls, this stadium has it all. If you visit this expansive sports arena, you can expect to see iconic features such as:

Seating Capacity

When you host sporting events as massive as the Colts versus the Patriots, you need the space to accommodate the fans who come to watch the show. Lucas Oil Stadium is around 180,000 square feet in size, filled with enough seats and concession stands to keep visitors happy.

The stadium can hold around 67,000-70,000 people, enough to shake the ground when the Colts score a touchdown. Whether you want a front-row seat in the middle of the action or a seat up in the wings with a higher view, visitors can pick the sporting experience they want without breaking the bank.

Suites

Want a luxurious, high-end sporting experience? Reserving a suite near the field offers a personable entertainment experience as you watch the game unfold.

Lucas Oil Stadium has 139 different suites available, each ranging in size and style. For an up-close day of football, you can reserve one of the 8 field suites that are just 10 feet from the field. There is also the Quarterback Suite on the upper suite level that can accommodate around 200 guests.

Retractable Roof

When designing a sports stadium, many companies struggle to decide between a stadium with an open roof or one that’s closed in. While an open roof offers natural light and an outdoor feel, it leaves the teams and the fans susceptible to the weather.

Faced with this dilemma, the team at Lucas Oil Stadium decided to do both. This arena’s retractable roof is one of the first of its kind, with two panels that can be opened in just 11 minutes. Whether it’s sunny, rainy, or snowy, fans can watch their team play in comfort all year round.

Exhibit Halls

On the stadium’s Event Level, there is around 43,000 square feet of exhibit space to hold different events. The arena seating can also be retracted to expand the space even further.

The stadium also has a series of underground pedestrian connectors that allow visitors to travel to the nearby Indianapolis Convention Center and a handful of hotels without dealing with traffic.

Public Tours

Want to visit an NFL stadium and learn all the nitty-gritty details about the arena and the sports? Lucas Oil Stadium hosts public tours every Friday (excluding event days and holidays) at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Visitors get to walk around the stadium and learn about its history.

The tours are around an hour long, and you can purchase tickets 2 weeks in advance.
